EL1xxx | EtherCAT Terminals, digital input
The EtherCAT Terminals from the EL1xxx, ES1xxx and ELX1xxx series are intended for the acquisition of binary signals. Typically, these are mechanical contacts such as break contacts or make contacts, electronic sensors such as inductive proximity switches, optical sensors or other methods in order to generate a low/high signal in the sense of control technology. This signal is transmitted via EtherCAT to the higher-level automation device for further processing. The terminal variants differ by different signal thresholds, number of channels, connection options and/or input filter times. The portfolio is rounded off by additional functions such as XFC (timestamp/oversampling), safety or combined input/output terminals.

The EL1809 digital input terminal acquires the binary 24 V control signals from the process level and transmits them, in an electrically isolated form, to the higher-level automation unit. The EtherCAT Terminal has 16 channels, whose signal states are indicated by LEDs. The power contacts are connected through. With the EL1809, the reference ground for all inputs is the 0 V power contact.
